Some stories transcend the sport they belong to.

Created on the occasion of a retrospective exhibition dedicated to Swiss racing legends Jo Siffert and Herbert Müller, this series of artworks explores the enduring relationship between memory, movement and legacy. Presented alongside the historical exhibition, the project offers a contemporary artistic perspective on two figures whose influence continues to shape Swiss motorsport culture.

Growing up in Fribourg, Jo Siffert has always been part of the local cultural landscape. His remarkable journey — from the son of a milkman to one of the most respected racing drivers of his generation — remains a source of inspiration far beyond the world of racing. Alongside him, Herbert Müller represents another chapter of Swiss motorsport history, defined by talent, determination and an unwavering passion for competition.

For this series, I focused on some of the iconic cars that became inseparable from their stories. More than technical objects, these vehicles have become symbols — carrying memories, emotions and a mythology that continues to resonate decades later.

Each artwork was created specifically for the exhibition, drawing from archival references while leaving space for interpretation and contemporary visual language. Rather than documenting history, the intention was to engage in a dialogue with it, translating the energy and spirit surrounding these machines into a personal artistic vocabulary.

Presented in parallel with the retrospective exhibition, the works create a bridge between past and present, celebrating not only the achievements of two exceptional drivers but also the cultural legacy they left behind.
